REVIEW: Lets Talk About Masks.....

Yes lets talk about hair masks they are something I rely on to keep my hair in better condition and the 2 I want to talk about today have been like miracle products over the last year and I don't think I could live without them!

Everyone knows about the Macadamia Deep Repair Masque its pretty much a cult product in the beauty world and it took be so long to actually try it as it is so expensive here in the UK. The second is the Pure Luxury Argan Colour Protect Therapy Mask that I randomly found in TK Maxx and after the first use I new it was going to be my hairs new BFF. The only down side to it though is that this is the 2nd one Ive found but they have completely disappeared from TK Maxx and I cant find them online.

The Macadamia Deep Repair Masque has become something my hair cant live without unlike most deep repair hair masks this is actually one you apply while in the shower and leave on for 7 mins (or longer its up to you). If I find that my hair is looking and feeling dryer than normal and I just need a quick treatment to make it soft and shiny then this is my go to product!
It makes my hair super soft I have yet to find an in shower product that has managed to match this, with being a dyed blonde this is very import to me. Plus the smell is amazing which is always a plus when you have to keep a product on your hair for a period of time.

This right here was my first love in the hair world it is just amazing! unlike the Macadamia this is a much thicker consistency and is a mask you apply before you shower and onto dry hair. I usually keep this on for a few hours when my hair is in desperate need of moisture and repair. To intensify the treatment I usually wrap my hair in clingfilm and apply a towel around my head to keep the hair a little bit warm. The best part about this product is the price I only paid £4.99 for the tub of amazingness :)

If anyone knows where I can get my hands on Argan Luxury Mask I will be forever grateful :)

Miss Glossybox November/December Unboxing & Review 2013

OMG a Box review? really Caitlin?....Yes Im finally posting box reviews from this month it has been awhile since I was away last month for box reviews but I thought hey why not get back to that!!

As you may know Miss Glossybox is the part of Glossybox that is aimed more towards the younger teen group that is sent out every 2 months, but they do still have some pretty good products in it! If you would like to sign up to Miss Glossybox just click here. (*)

This was the November / December box and Ill be honest not that impressed this time :( I was expecting a box that just encompassed the holiday season but there wasn't as much as a piece of tinsel involved in this box.
A quick look at the products.....

So...? Fragrance - So...? Sinful Body Spray. Price: £1.69 for 75ml - www.boots.com

This you can tell is very much aimed to the younger subscribers of the box, its not something Ive used for years and dont really use now. It is a great size for travel though so if you need to you can just through it in a gym bag.

Jelly Pong Pong - 2 in 1 Shadow/Liner. Price: £10.50 - jellypongpong.com

I have actually received one of these before in a blueish green color and while I like both colors the pencils themselves are way to hard. If I was to use this as a liner or a shadow I would have to scrub it on my eye which honestly not something I am jumping to do. I wish it was a softer pencil because this is a color I could easily use in a daily basis.

Clear Start from Dermalogica - Breakout Clearing Foaming Wash. Price: £13 for 177ml - cleanstart.com

I have recieved several different pieces in boxes from Dermalogica and never had any complaint so I am really looking forward to trying this out. I love to change up my skincare routine and I'm always up for trying new stuff out so cant wait to add this to my other skincare.

Elegant Touch - Little Mix Nail Wraps. Price: £6 for a set - www.boots.com

I do love a good nail wrap but again you can easily tell as to what age group this product in aimed for. I think they are pretty cute just not for me really.

Lacoste Perfume - Touch of Pink. Price £38.50 for 50ml - theperfumeshop.com

This has been a scent I have loved for years but never bought so I was super happy to see this in the box!! Very much my kind of scent and will most likely be picking up a full size when I finish the sample :)

SO thats all for this months Miss Glossybox review not their best but still somethings Ill use but hopefully the next one in January will be better :)

Birchbox September 2013 Unboxing & Review *Backstage To Real Life*

I know I know I am so freaking slow on these month and I am hating myself for it I dont know why its been taking me so long recently to actually write anf get posts up! i am sorry if you wanted to see these earlier believe me I really wanted to post them earlier but I think life an work has been a little crazy lately.
Anyway enough of my excuses onto Septembers Birchbox!! it was another London fashion edition :)

A quick look at the products

Reverence de Bastien - Nail Polish in No.14. Price: £16.

You all know I am a nail polish junkie but I am just not wowed with this polish the color is okay but not exact desirable but after doing a little investigations this brand does a lot of reds and similar shades and not very many brights etc. I will admit I haven't tried it yet but I will insert a swatch of it if I can get a decent picture but for this price it better be life changing OPI isn't even this expensive and I find it hard to buy bottles of that unless I find it cheap somewhere.

Bioderma - Sebium H2O. Price: £9.99.

This has to be probably the most talked about product by the European Beauty Vloggers out there and I am so excited to finally have my hands on it!! This little fella is meant to be the holy grail of all makeup removers and I cant wait to see how it does up again waterproof mascara! I have heard such amazing things out this and that the L'Oreal 3 in 1 Purifying Micellar Solution are very similar so we will have to see :)

ModelCo. - Party Proof Matt Lipstick in Kitty. Price: £15.50 for a set of 3.

I am seriously obsessed with lipsticks at the moment so was pretty excited to hear a lip product would be in this months box and Ill be honest when I saw the color I received I wasn't jumping for joy over it. I was hoping for a bright read or something but It has grown on me so much!! super creamy and soft consistency and glides straight on and its one of those colors that is your lip color but better. I was advised to pair it with a lip gloss over the top to make it more me and I ended up using and sparkly nude from Revlon it looked so good together!!

Aromatherapy Associates - Revive Body Gel. Price: £31.

This is probably one of the products I really don't care about, I have so many body washes/gels I really dont need anymore than I already buy haha. It says it is meant to maintain a healthy circulation after a busy day and even your body's skin tone, it sounds like an interesting product if it didn't smell so strong I probably would have a little more excitement about it.

Molton Brown - Ylang-Ylang Nourishing Body Lotion. Price: £18.

Last month we received the body wash/gel in this and I must say I prefer the smell of the lotion to that its not to crazy strong or over powering I will def get around to using this at some point! I also LOVE the bottle for some reason.

*LIFESTYLE EXTRA*

Green & Black's - White Chocolate. Price £2.29

This was a cute little extra to have in this months box I'm not usually a big Green & Black's chocolate fan only because I don't like any form of dark chocolate but this was a tasty little treat :)

That's all for this months Birchbox! If you'd like to sign up to Birchbox please click here.(*)

Glossybox September 2013 Unboxing & Review *The London Edition*

With it being September it means fashion week has been kicking off all over and this actually arrived after fashion week but it is the theme of this months box and I have to say I do think the box design is pretty cool :)
Loving the paper inside as well so unique adds such a pretty twist to this months subscription.
A quick look at the products....

Elizabeth Arden - Untold Perfume. Price: £48 for 50ml, £69 for 100ml - www.debenhams.com
I first heard of this perfume in a Shaaanxo video and thought hmm pretty cool bottle seeing as I am sucker for packaging Ill be honest that's what attracted me to it but it actually smell pretty good to!! Its a very strong and mature floral scent but at the right event it would be perfect, I am very much a sweet kinda scent person so this will be a great change.

Eylure - Pre-glued Lashes. Price: £5.06 - www.eylure.com
I love me some eyelashes but I seriously suck at putting them on I have found only 1 pair that I can apply and not look a crazy eyelash lady that got ready in the dark!! I'm pretty excited to try these out though the whole pre-glued thing interests me it will be good to see if they actually work.

Toni & Guy HairMeet Wardrobe - Classic Shine & Gloss Serum. Price: £7.19 for 30ml - www.boots.com
If you hadn't already noticed through this blog that anything haircare related I am on it like nothing else. I freaking love this serum I just run it through the ends on my hair after I use a flat iron makes them super soft and shiny. I haven't used to many Toni & Guy products only because they can be a little expensive but I would def recommend this for someone looking for a nice hair serum.

Be A Bombshell Cosmetics - Onyx Eye Liner. Price: $14 for 3g - www.beabombshell.com

Ekk was so excited to see a product by these guys, Jen over at Ramblings of a Suburban Mom is always getting things from beauty box (she is subscription box queen!!) and I am always super jealous because they always seem to be lip products. Anyway I love this eyeliner I'm not the biggest fan of felt tip liners but I love that you can get so many looks out of it. Super sad we cant get it in the UK though.

Rimmel - Stay Blushed Blusher in Pop of Pink. Price: £4.49 for 14ml - uk.rimmellondon.com

This is probably a first for me I have never used a liquid or cream blush only because I feel it will go horribly wrong and I will look like a pink faced crazy lady. I love the colour very me so I am looking forward to trying it out if I can ever get the hang of applying it.

That's all for this months Glossybox I know its super late I have been crazy busy preparing to leave for the US.

Review: Primark Beauty *£1 Lipsticks*

The other week I did a little shopping at Primark and came across the beauty section I hadn't realised that Primark did beauty products until a few hauls popped up in my sub box. So I thought what the hell when I'm there I will pick up a few pieces and see what the quality is like.

I have to say for the price I am pretty impressed with some of the products and well some not so much but for the price its not a huge waste.

So lets start out with their lipsticks. I picked up the only 3 colours that I could find in my store which was a super super light pink which later I realised has actually had its coloured bleached my what I assume the store lights, a bright magenta colour and then a more deep pink colour. I have really been trying to expand my lip colours for fall and branch out into something I wouldn't normally wear. well with these only being £1 a piece I thought it was a perfect opportunity to try some new things out.

I dont think you can see it that well but the very top of the lipstick is a few shades lighter than the original lipstick colour.

Here are some swatches they unfortunately don't have any colour names just a jumble of numbers.

and on the lips...
Super Light Pink *Not a good look*

The Magenta

The Deep Pink
Before I start talking about the colours I will say I am pretty impressed with the quality of these for the price! They are super creamy and I find the darkest of the 3 did have some pretty amazing staying power I didn't test the first two so I am not 100% on those. If you are looking to try different lipstick colours but don't want to spend a to much money I would really recommend just trying these out and if they aren't your cup of tea its only £1 wasted instead on £6 - £10 from the drugstore.

Now onto the colours as you can see the light pink not so pretty on the lips it kinda makes me look dead and even with my super light skin tone its just not a good look. I don't know if it will look any better if I can get past the bleach out part of the lipstick if the original colour will look any better. The Magenta colour I think is probably my fave out of them all its a lovely bright pink that's pretty pigmented and still holds a glossy finish. I think it will probably be my most used out of the 3. The last one although is pretty similar to the magenta it is actually pretty sheer although really does hold its colour once applied.

So for the lipstick I give them a thumbs up very impressed :)

Keep an eye out for my next review on Primark Beauty with some eye products!!

Glossybox Unboxing & Review August 2013 *High Flyers Box*

Yep its that time of month again its the time where my boxes come in and both came in super early this month although it has taken me a while to finally write up this post, Ill be honest I have been kinda busy but its mostly down to being a lazy ass this week lol

Anyway enough of my rambling lets get into this months box, It was all centered around High Flyers and we received 6 different Items from around the world which I always LOVE when boxes do and there is some pretty awesome bits in this :)

A quick look at the products

*Sweden* Emite Make Up - Eyelash Curler. Price: £20 - www.emitemakeup.com

This was the sneak peak product that they released just before I got my box and Ill be honest to begin with I was like freaking great a £20 eyelash curler I don't use the 2 I have why am I going to do with this and well I was proven wrong. Once I actually tried it out it did work really well and has been so far the only thing that has kept a really good curl in my lashes.

*USA* Juicy Couture - Viva La Juicy Noir Perfume Sample. Price: £63 for 100ml - www.debenhams.co.uk/beauty/juicy-couture

I am a pretty big Juicy Couture scent fan and OMG this smells amazing!!! I had heard some pretty great things about the Noir scent and it really does smell great I will be looking out for this in full size that's for sure!

*USA* TRESemme - Platinum Strength 60 Second Concentrated Treatment Shot. £1.49 for 15ml Shot - www.tesco.com

I just finnished using this and my hair has never felt so soft!! I am pretty in love with the whole Platinum Strength line by TRESemme so I'm not surprised that I love this to. I got 2 uses out of the little shot and smells pretty damn good you are meant to apply to damaged areas of your hair after using the shampoo from the line. I don't really have any majorly damaged parts any more so I just did the ends of my hair and when up to mid length, worked great!

*UK* Jelly Pong Pong - 2 in 1 Shadow/Liner. Price: £10.50 - www.jellypongpong.com

While I think the whole 2 in 1 thing is a great idea they really should have made this a much softer pencil I would not want to scrub this over my eye lid and use it as a shadow it would be pretty painful. I haven't tried it as a liner yet but I'm kind of concerned that even as a liner this might be a little to harsh to apply which really sucks because its such a pretty color.

*Brazil* Oceane - Makeup Remover Pen. Not yet available in the UK go to www.oceane.com.br

This I think is a pretty cool concept I have used these kind of pens int he past and they have been ok but the nibs always get dirty quickly so I love that these come with refills!! I cant wait to try this out I currently use Qtips to correct makeup mistakes but these have makeup remover in the tips which sounds interesting.

That's it for Augusts high flyer box and as you can see some pretty amazing products in it!!
