Birchbox Unboxing & Review July 2013 *Jet Set Box*

So this months box from Birchbox again has been a cracking one cant wait to try all the products some I already have though and love!
No fancy box from Birch this month but I am super freaking excited to see next months as they are teaming up with InStyle!!!

 Sneak peak at the products...

Blanc Cachemire - Creme De Jour Protectice. Price: £54.75 Full Size

Now I love a good face cream but I have a love hate relationship with when they send out these tiny samples that I fall in freaking love with and then I realise the price they retail for. As you can see this is pretty expensive for a fill size but I do have to admit my favorite face cream samples seem to be the french ones so I cant wait to try this out!! It seems super light weight as well so wont be to heavy as a day cream.

Electric Hair - Intensive Treatment Masque. Price: £23.50 for Full Size

I think this bad boy here is the product I am most looking forward to trying out I am a hair mask junkie I will literally try anything that claims that it repairs hair or makes it look super soft. I haven't heard of Electric Hair before but some of my fave hair masks I had never heard of before so if this is a hit you will probably be seeing it in an upcoming blog post about some of my favorite hair masks :)

theBalm Cosmetics - InStain Long Wearing Powder Staining Blush in Swiss Dot. Price £21.50 for Full Size

Yay theBalm has finally come to UK subscription boxes!! so happy to see this in my box this month with being a makeup junkie and Beauty Vlogger you see all these ladies talk about products they can pick up easily from stores and us UK peoples cant. I am not a massive fan of the color but I hope I can make it work!!

Nougat London - Nurturing Hand Cream. Price £20 for Full Size

Come on who doesn't love a good hand cream?? I know I do and this sample is perfect size to just throw in my purse for the day. I do currently have a little tin style hand cream but I'm always wondering if it just going to pop open and then its hello hand cream bag haha. So yep cant wait to use this.

Noble Isle - Bath & Shower Gel. Price: £20 for Full Size

This is a product I have received before and I love Shower gel as much as the next person a but the scent is just not my this way to strong I prefer more of the Fruit/Candy scent and this is def not in that kinda range.

*LIFESTYLE EXTRA*
The Chia Co - Shots. Price: £4.79

Ok so if you have read my blog in the past you'll know these useless lifestyle extras bug the crap out of me!! I subscribe to these boxes for beauty items not for some weird seeds that you sprinkle of things. Ill be honest they are already in the bin!

So that is everything from this months Birchbox as I said above cant wait to see whats ins tore for next months box with them teaming up with InStyle!!

Birchbox June 2013 Unboxing & Review!!

This box I was super excited for it to come in just from the sneak peaks Birchbox had put on their Facebook page and this box did not disappoint!!

This month was the first with Birchbox redesign and I have to say I do like the new logo and everything. Only thing is is that the actual boxes are smaller than the previous but we still seem to get the same size products so hopefully that wont matter.

As you can see its now just a plan brown box with white detailing instead of the pink with the old logo, also the inside of the move has a cute chevron design. Again this box was all centered around festivals.
You still get the normal menu cards and bag like normal just slightly redesigned and they also included a set of post cards from around the world. Not to sure if ill use them but they are pretty cool
A sneak peak at the products...

Beauty Protector - Protect & Detangle. Price: £15 - Birchbox Protect & Detangle

I m pretty sure this is the thing I was most excited about, with trying to get my hair in good condition and help it grow so I hope its going to help. It has pretty much everything in one which is great because the amount of hair products I put in my hair throughout the day is crazy and can weigh it down a little. This little spray sure packs a punch with it being vegan, paraben- and sulfate-free leave-in mist conditions, detangles and minimises frizz, while safeguarding colour and adding shine and also products against UV rays and heat. Whats not to love!!

Color Club + Birchbox - Wanderlust Collection Nail Polish in London Calling. Price: £10 - Color Club Mini's

I am seriously loving all this nail polish these boxes have had recently!! Let just start off with I havnt really tried that many Color Club polishes in the past but I am in love with this color seriously its amazing for summer, well that's if England actually gets any summer....
Anyway the only problem I have with this polish is it dries way to quick like from the bottle to the nail its already tacky and you have to work pretty fast to get a smooth coat on the nail.

Green people - Sun Lotion SPF 15 with Tan Accelerator. Price £17.95 - Sun Lotion SPF 15

Ive received this in an old SheSaidBeauty box a long time again and well I havn't used it. I like the idea but the whole tan accelerator thing kinda puts me off with being super pale I feel like I will turn orange haha

ModelCo - Eye Define Eye Pencil in black. Price: £14 - Eye Pencil

As I said in my Glossybox Unboxing & Review I don't think I will ever need to buy another eye liner again with these beauty boxes which Is awesome! I have been loving this its the ones I seem to be grabbing for recently when doing my makeup in the morning for my waterline & tightline just glides straight on and is super black :)

Carole Franck - Fluide Fraicheur Phyto-Hydrant Face Cream. Price: £47.25 - Face Moisturizer

Why is it that every french skincare product these boxes send out I fall in love with? seriously they are so expensive but do such great things for my skin it makes me sad haha I have only used this a few times but it has been great for the dryer patches on my face before applying makeup!

They where all the main products in the box but they had another little box
which inside had another little Color Club polish to share with a friend I loved this idea sucks that a bunch of people got the same color twice and some didn't but oh well still a great little touch :)

Thats all for this months Birchbox as you can see great freaking box :)

UK vs USA: Maybelline Mega Plush Mascara

As someone who travels to the USA as much as I can over the years I have come across a lot of products over there that we don't get here in the UK. Things like Maybelline Baby Lips, Revlon Colorstay Whipped foundation just to name 2 and there are a ton of brands we don't get here either like Milani, Hard Candy, Wet 'n' Wild, Physicians Formula and so many more.

Every now and again we get lucky and they finally bring a product out here that has been out in the US going on 2 years, which to me is really strange because we still do get a lot of the same products launched at the same time but a few they just don't bother with. They happen to be the ones I usually really want to get my hands on though haha.

The Maybelline Mega Plush has just come to the UK and I thought it would be a good thing to blog about and see if there are any difference in the US and the UK versions.
I will point out this mascara is one of my favorites I have 2 back ups and I have 2 currently being used plus now the UK one I have.

As you can see they do have some difference between the 2 not huge just the packaging it self is different which isn't surprising they are going to market it differently to different countries. The tube as well has some difference and I find that with a lot of Maybelline mascara's here have the same look they are more pointed at the top and bottom opposed to the US one that is very flat which is great for standing the product up on a vanity.

Now onto the wands...
USA

UK

At first look the wands to look pretty similar and they are with just a few subtle differences. I find that the UK wand is a little bit short and not a plump as the US one and because of the slightly different handle is a little harder to apply but nothing major. When applying the mascara they both go on really nicely and they are both super buildable so if you want the more subtle and coverage you just need to apply one coat if you want to build it up to give more of a false lash look just add a few more coats.

Here is the finished look.
 UK
 USA

They do look pretty much the same but I do find the US one does win out with giving that little bit extra volume!

So If you are a UK girlie and had seen this product raved about in the USA and wanted to try it seriously go out and buy it it is well worth it. Some may wonder why I have done the comparison between the 2 when they are the same product, honestly for someone who is in the US a reasonable amount of time throughout the year you see a lot of products not just makeup and then when it finally makes its way over to the UK it can be completely different with the stupid laws that stop certain things being used in products or how certain things are illegal here in the UK or the US even *Cough* Mt Dew & Kinder Eggs *Cough*

Would you be interested to see other comparison as they come out to the UK? let me know down below :)

Glossybox Turns 2!! May 2013 Unboxing & Review

As the title to this post says Glossybox turned 2 this month and you know what that means.... BIRTHDAY BOX!! Some may remember last years birthday box some pretty great products and the thing everyone remembers was the balloon they threw in there.
I was pretty impressed with the first birthday box but this one knocked that outta the park I LOVE everything that I got in my box this month!
Also another amazing thing about this box everything is FULL SIZE!!

Super freaking cute tissue paper this month!!

A Quick look at the products....

Awapuhi Wild Ginger - Shine Spray. Price: £18.95 for 125ml - www.paul-mitchell.co.uk/awapuhi

Its a hair product so of course I am going to be excited to try this out, now I have tried a hair treatment by Awapuhi before and I LOVE it so I really hope that this does disappoint! "Used by Hawaiian Natives to nourish and moisturise skin and hair, leaving hair types soft, silky and hydrated" I myself have very dry hair due to previous use of dye and heat so if it does all those things I will have found my new favorite product!

Collection - Fast Stroke Eyeliner in Black. Price: £2.99 for 6 ml - www.collectioncosmetics.co.uk

I have just recently started getting back into using liquid liner I predominantly just use pencil liners, then every now and again use liquid to fail at doing a winged liner haha. I have never had a problem with the collection brand so I think this is going to be a hit!

Jelly Pong Pong - Fairy Lashes Mascara. Price: £15 - www.jellypongpong.com

Total Mascara Junkie right here!! I know some will hate the fact that I don't pay attention to the whole I have to throw away my mascara every 6 months but its just something I love to buy and change up regularly. I am so glad to receive one in a box, I usually go for the voluminous and lengthening types and well this really don't do a whole lot for my lashes but it does give a nice look for if I am not wanting to go to over the top.

Headline Colors - Pool Side Party Nail Polish in Gunmetal. Price: £9 for 10ml - www.headlinecolors.com

ok are you started to see why I am loving this box!! I can never have enough nail polish and even though this isn't a very spring/summer color I will still wear it no matter what the color looks so pretty on and only takes one coat!

Beautiful Movements Cosmetics - Prime & Create Mixing Medium. Price: £20 for 20g - www.beautifulmovementscosmetics.com

This I think was the most intriguing of everything that came in the box, this aloe vera based gel is designed to be used for turning power makeup into cream from foundation & blush to eye shadow pigments. I plan on trying it out with some pigments I have been using them a lot recently and id love to see how it can improve the application of them. I will probably go a review or update after I have tried it out :)

With it being the birthday box these are just some little extras they threw in some Glossybox nail files & Green and Black's chocolate. I think it was a nice little touch.

So that's everything for this months Glossybox keep an eye out my video it will be up very soon :)

Are you subscribed to Glossybox? what did you get this month? Let me know Id love to see some of the other products that went out.

Review: Models Own Fruit Pastel Collection - Scented Nail Polish

Yet again I am late to the party on an amazing new thing (I really need to some how become more up to date with whats being launch in the beauty world)
Anyway while in boots the other day I came across and AMAZING mint colored name polish from Models Own and well we all know how I like me some mint nail polish and if you don't well its a lot.
It wasn't until I had wondered round and looked at other products that it said scratch & sniff on the top of the polish.

I had heard about a few brands doing the whole scented nail polish but I had never actually smelt any and well I must say I am pretty impressed.

They have 5 scents in the collection: Strawberry, Apple, Banana, Blueberry, Grape
They only had a few scents at my local boots I don't think it was the whole collection so it try it out I picked up the mint green (Apple Pie) and the yellow (Banana Split)

I am currently wearing the Apple Pie and Loving it! Very much my color and perfect for the spring/summer (well if you can all the week straight of rain we are going to receive over the next 7 days here in England spring/summer)

I'm actually a pretty big fan of apple scents as a kid I always loved apple flavored candy and now I love apple smelling candles so this was a big hit for me, its a true smell to what a fresh apple smells like.
My only really annoying this about this is the fact that it can go on a little streaky I have 2 coats on which makes it a pretty opaque color but it off patches its not such a strong color. Not sure if that's my own fault, also I have found the cap become detached from the brush.

I think this will be the next one I paint my nails with I love banana scents and well this does not disappoint it really just smell like a banana and not the artificial banana smell its yummy.

I have never been a a big fan on Models Own nail polish but after I have tried the few I do own I will be looking out for new polishes from them more often the formula is great and they glide on great apart from the odd patch of streakyness as mentioned above.

I will be on the look out for the other 3 scents for £5 you cant really go wrong especially when boots at the moment have a buy 1 get 1 half price going on :) or you can pick then up from the ModelsOwnIt.com

Hand you tried any of this collection what did you think?
