My Winter Foundation Routine

It has taken me years to figure out the right way to apply foundation in the winter so that it doesn't look cakey or flakey. I have always suffered from super dry skin and in the past my foundation has always been a pain int he butt to apply, until I came across Wayne Goss on youtube last year and he did a whole video about applying foundation for those with dry skin and well it has changed my whole makeup application!

Why is it that when I travel its never easy??

I know I have already broken 2 of my New years goals and that was to upload on my Youtube Channel 3 times a week and to regularaly blog on here and well its nearly February and I have blogged like 3 times maybe. 

Ill be honest I went back to the Colorado to see my sister now before anyone thinks wait weren't you there for most of October and well yes I was. My sister and I decided a week before we left last trip that screw it we will come out in Jan its close to Christmas and our oldest sisters birthday, It was only a 10 day trip and well it was bascially free. 

We decided to use our miles that over the years we had collected so instead of our usual route of LHR --> DFW --> COS on American Airlines we risked it and flew British Airways (I never have any luck with these guys unfortunately) LHR --> BOS --> DFW --> COS and well that went to crap before we had even taken off from London.

I wont go on and on about it but we left 2 hours late from London which meant before we landed in Boston we got rushed into first class (pretty fancy I must say) so we could get rushed through Immigration and baggage claim to connect to our Dallas Flight. Well that went to crap when It took us 45 mins to get our bags from the flight and got on a bus to our terminal 2 mins before our flight left. Anyway long story short met a lovely lady while on that bus who reminded me a lot of Will's mother from Will & Grace haha and our Dallas flight didn't actually come in so we went through what felt like 100 different security check points and ended up on a JetBlue flight to Denver and driving back to the Springs. 

I will add that the same problem we had on our BA flight to Boston that delayed us for 2 hours is the same problem we had on our Denver flight that delayed us for 1 hour I mean serious I have the WORST luck with traveling!

Sooooo after all my ramblings here are some pictures from the trip :)

While I was away my Team the New England Patriots Played the Denver Brocos and well lost so I was the Red, White & Blue in a seas of Orange haha

Even the Doggies were in their Orange and Ellie Mae had her nails done hehe

So yes today if the first day I have had off work since I got back last Thursday so the blogging will begin again tomorrow :)

A New Year, A New Me?.......

Well Its that time of the year when everyone makes those crazy things called New Year Resolutions, no doubt everyone has seen friends post that 2014 is the new them etc etc but usually by February most (like myself) have given up on them and gone back to old habits.

Last year I decided not to have resolutions but rather to set myself goals some I completed some I started and some I just failed miserably at but that's okay :)

I again this year decided to create a list of thing I would like to accomplish in 2014 and here are some of them.

1. Loose 50lb. 

I know this may seem a lot but its really what I need to do to be in the range that mean little chart they have for you height says. I have been working out and slowly loosing weight over the last 2 years but I really need to step it up! I know this might all not happen in the 12 month time frame but I hope to hit as close as possible to that goal :) This will be combined with my second goal for this year is to make smoothies. Ideally I want to be having a breakfast and lunch smoothies and then have a balanced dinner but we will see how that works out. I will also be a member of the Gym in Feb/March so excited :D

2. Consistently Blog & Upload. 

Over the last year I have blogged on and off and I love doing it, this year I really want to step up my game and upload to my channel 3 days a week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) and Blog 3 - 4 times a week. For a little while I managed to blog 5 times a week over the last year but things get in the way and I and I get stuck on what to blog about. Let me know what you would like to see be post about :)

3.  Read More.

Last year I decided I wanted to read 1 book a month and well I still haven't finished the book I started last January..... So instead of 1 a month I just want to make more effort to read more in general. I have a bunch of books I have bough for plane journeys and I haven't even turned the first page on them, I have a kindle and iPad so I have no excuse for not reading this coming year!

4. Be Debt Free.

I never did go to University (although some times I wish I had) so I cant even say my debt is from that I just got a credit card at 18 and started putting things on it I wanted when I didn't have the money in my account. I know that was a pretty dumb thing to do but luckily my CC has a pretty low limited so I am less that £1000 in debt. I know some might think why do I still buy things like makeup/clothes and go to the USA so much and that because it isn't a huge number and I don't worry about it that much plus I do pay something off it each month. So although its not a stupid amount Id just like not to have it :)

5. Be Happy.

2013 wasn't a horrific year or anything for me but it was an up and down year for me. While I had some really good times this past year it unfortunately had a lot of stress, worry and uncertainty work wise and that put a damper on a lot even friends and family noticed how miserable I was and I am a usually very happy person. I hope that 2014 brings a change with that. I also need to stop letting other peoples moods affect my own I have lost count how many times I have been in an amazing mood but then someone comes along in a shitty one and all of a sudden Ive lost my happy!

6. Do Things!

This kind of covers a few different points in my list. I was to go to at least 1 NFL International Series game in Wembley at the end of this year, I want to attend IMAT's, I want to look into either a course or school to study makeup artistry and maybe FX makeup.

All in all I just want 2014 to be an awesome year where big things happen!!

Mini MAC Haul + Swatches

If you hadn't seen I went shopping on my Birthday and spent a stupid amount of money at MAC and when I got home I realized the lady who served me missed the one thing I really wanted off of the list I gave her. One thing that annoyed me most about her though was the way she looked at me when I asked for the products I bought like I couldn't afford it, yes I look young and yes it was a lot of money to spend on makeup but don't look down on me because of that.

Anyway the other day I decided to put an order in with MAC online to get the item she missed off and a few other pieces :)

The 3 Items I ordered are: Pro Long Wear Paint Pots in: Mooncake (Baking Beauties Collection) & Let Me Pop, Sheen Supreme Lipstick in Behave Yourself.

I also order another Concealer but didn't see the point in taking pictures of that :)

Though I'd throw in some swatches :)

Thursday Thoughts!

Linking up with my friend Jen over at Ramblings of a Suburban Mom again for Thursday Thoughts :)

 - I have been terrible at blogging and uploading videos for the last 2 weeks and I hate it! I didn't upload a video for 7 days 7 freaking days I normally have a schedule of a video every 2-3 days. I had to work a 6 day work week which means I don't have time to film or write once I get home I just want to sleep. I always mean to set write up a bunch of posts on a Sunday and just have them post everyday but something always gets in the way.

- I have to create a new Bloglovin account because I stupidly linked it with my real name so when someone I work with decided to Google my name it showed up. I know this may sounds stupid to some but I work with 5 guys they don't understand this shit and when they can make my life hell if they want to I don't need to add fuel to the fire of what can we make fun of Caitlin for. I like to keep my work life separate from my online presence if that makes any sense.

- I have been sucked into the world of online gaming again, Yes I'm a gamer (Xbox and PC) both of my parents are PC gamers and have been for years I think I played my first online game at the age of 9. I know this may seen so strange to some people but we aren't really the traditional family we can easily waste 5-6 hours a day in mythical realms lol Imagine Penny from Big Bang Theory when she starts online gaming but we wash and don't have food everywhere lol

- My birthday is May 4th and I plan on shopping and well after I saw my paycheck with my Quarterly bonus in it just WOW someone is going to have to cut me off after a while lol

- I'm pretty sure I am going to have a heart attack at work one of these days the guys love to jump out and scare the shit out of me when I walk out of rooms, their favorite is when I walk out the bathroom I have attacked one with a mop once.....

- My Favorite actress Katey Sagal is going to be on Glee May 2nd and then again next season this means I now have to start tolerating Glee again, but the fact she is going to be singing in next season makes me want to watch it she has an amazing voice!

Glossybox UK April 2013 Review & Unboxing *Pearl Lowe Edition*

Yay I finally received my Glossybox for April so excited for this and it did not disappoint!

This months was a special edition box by Pearl Lowe and I love love love the box design super cute and I will be keeping it to store letters :)

 A quick look at the products...

SunSense - Daily Face SPF. Price: £18.50 for 75g - www.crawfordshealthcare.com

This will be great for the warmer months when you don't want to put on a lot of products but still want a little coverage. The daily face has 50+ SPF which is tinted for a sheer matte finish which is great and the fact that is is good for all skin types just makes it better!! Cant wait to give this a try and see if it really works I don't doubt the SPF i am more dubious about the tinted part and if I will come out looking like an oompa loopma lol

NIP + FAB - Coconut Latte Dry Skin Fix Body Butter.  Price: £9.95 for 200ml - www.nipandfab.com

So I'm actually pretty excited to try this out I am been really into moisturizers and body lotions/creams recently for when i get out of the shower and I have heard great things from this brand. I am not 100% in love with the smell just because to me it doesn't smell like coconut or latte it smells of Coco Butter and I am not a huge fan of that. 

Modelco - Cheek + Lip Tint in Rosy Red. Price: £15 for 10ml - www.modelcocosmetics.co.uk

I think this is the only products in the whole box I wasn't overly happy with only because I know what other products people got in their boxes in stead of this. The packaging is cute and reminds me of the OCC liptars but the color is really not be I think I might try this as a blush but i cant see that going to well haha.

 Yves Rocher France - So Elixir Purple Perfume. Price: £44 for 50ml - www.yves-rocher.co.uk

 As we all know (if you have watched my YouTube channel) I am a Perfume junkie I love new perfumes and buying different scents!! This has to be the cutest bottle for a sample and I love that the liquid is purple, the smell is really nice a little bit strong but will be perfect for a night out. Its described as a Floral - Woody Elixir and I must say I agree with that its not my usual scent of choice but still smells amazing :)

Essie Nail Lacquer - Nice is Nice. Price: £7.99 for 5ml - www.boots.com , www.superdrug.com

I am not sure how many colors they sent out in all the boxes but I am so happy I recieved this gorgeous lilac color so so pretty!! I cant wait to wear it it will def be on my next to paint list. I am a massive Essie fan and this is the best spring color cant wait to start rocking it :) 

Lets face it though its always going to be a good box if it comes with a nail polish lol

 Rudimental ft Ella Eyre - Waiting All Night, So I have been OBSESSED with this song and video! I think the video is the reason I love this song so much its just inspiring it's the journey of Kurt Yaeger (a pro BMX Champion and actor) from losing his leg in a motorbike accident to being able to ride his BMX again.

 WTFSutter, Now I know most wont know what this is but if you know who Kurt Sutter is you might. So if you dont know who Mr Sutter is he is the Creator/Writer of Son's of Anarchy and every week does a serious on YouTube called WTFSutter which he answers questions from fans and gives updates on castings or any news for the upcoming season. Honestly how many writers or creators of TV shows/movies really take time out their day to make sometimes nearly 20 min videos interacting with their fans? I don't think I have seen anyone else do this its a nice touch plus he can ramble about the most random things funny as all hell!

I'm Loving...

Going on from the above Son's of Anarchy we are getting to the end of Season 5 over here in the UK. Seeing as I have access to the internet the season has already been spoiled and I know what happens which sucks but still my all time favorite show and well this image just explains it all...

for anyone that does watch sons my little opinion the season so far: I miss Opie, Tara annoys me as the episodes go by but maybe that's because I love Gemma so much? I want to hate Clay for causing all the shit he has but Ron Perlman plays him so I just cant lol

MisterEpicMann, right I found this guy on YouTube about a month or so ago and he had around 10k subscribers if that and now he is on well over a Million!! I seriously recommend watching the Patients Tests 1 & 2 and How Animals Eat Their Food You will be crying from laughter I sure as hell did.

YouTube Tuesday

I really wanted to start something that Incorporated my YouTube with this blog a little bit more so I thought about how and that's how YouTube Tuesday came about!!

I have been on YouTube going on nearly 2 years now as a content creator and recently just hit my 1 year anniversary in the beauty community and well as a new YouTuber you really don't have anything as harsh as it sounds it unfortunately true. Its very unlikely that you are going to spring to having hundreds of thousands of subscribers in a few short months and that is purely down to the fact that YouTube has messed around so much with how to search for new content etc and it really hasn't been a good thing for those that want to get noticed on there.

So what I wanted to do is create YouTube Tuesday to feature a YouTuber I have come across that I feel deserves to have more subscribers and should really be noticed a little bit more :)

Yes I know I don't have well barely any Subscribers myself but hey its still nice if someone that does read this blog can come across someone they hadn't heard of before and turns out loving them!! 

To kick off the YouTube Tuesday I am going to start with another fellow English Beauty vlogger :

Birchbox UK Review & Unboxing March 2013

With Mothers day in the UK being March 10th this months box has the theme of Role Models. I personally don't celebrate mothers day (due to my mums request not because Im a horrible daughter or anything) but anyway the box was a pretty good one this month :)

Laura Geller - Inkwell Waterproof Gel Liner. Price: £24.50

I have a few Laura Geller Products from a giveaway I won on YouTube last year and I do really like them I think they are kind of over priced for what they are I mean I would never pay £24.50 for a Gel eyeliner, MAC's Fluid Lines are only £14 so £24.50 is crazy to me. Anyway back to the product haha Great product to be getting in a box and will use it pretty regularly :)

Molton Brown - Valbonne Fragrance. Price: £65

I love that we are getting more and more perfume samples in the boxes but this really isn't my scent at all not a huge fan.

RMK - Cleansing Balm. Price: £29

When I first got this I had no idea what I was meant to do with it but since reading up on it it makes a little bit more sense. For those like me who have/had no idea what the little fella was meant for it apparently mean for taking your makeup off, once it makes contact with your skin it turns into a liquid. It is said that "The Rose scented balm echoes your mum or grandmother's cold cream" I look forward to trying it it smells pretty good :)

La Sultane De Saba - Body Lotion with Argan Oil. Price £26.50

Im not really a massive body lotion kind of person only because I forgot to put it on. This smell pretty strong to me but I think I will def use it when I travel, its always great to have a something like this when flying :) I love the packaging design thought very cute.

Yu-Be - Moisturizing Skin Cream. Price: £19.50

This little thing is the best seller in Japan from 1957, I have used from Japanese/Korean skin products in the past and they have been pretty good so I have high hopes for this cream. Its meant ti leave skin super soft I think I will hold of on using it until I get a really dry patch to see how this really works. 

 *BEAUTY EXTRA*

Sanctuary - 30 Day Thermal Transformation Mask. Price: £27.50

I'm a big lover of face masks and this comes with a Clay mask in the little sample pack which is hands down my fav. I really cant wait to try this I am well over due for a proper clay mask :)

*LIFESTYLE EXTRA*

Lindt - Lindor Heart Tin Filled with Chocolate Truffles. Price: 2.99

Ok so these are my FAVORITE Chocolates ever!!! I get them every Christmas and that's the only time I eat them but OMG they taste amazing!! I recently tried the white chocolate ones to but anything by Lindor is to die for.

So that was March Birchbox very happy with it and it was a pretty good box. I hope we have plenty more great boxes to come.
