The RED Lip....

As a makeup lover I was pretty late to the lip product section which has become a down right addiction for me! I always end up buying lip products when I makeup shop and usually its always pinks and nudes.
With it being fall and very soon we will be in winter I really wanted to start embracing the deeper and darker lip colors so I thought myself in the deep end with red!!

ELF Lipstick in Fearless & ELF Matte Lip Colour in Rich Red
ELF Long Wear Lip Liner in Bitter & ELF Lipstick in Sociable with Maybelline Colorsensational Lipstick in Pink Punch
For my skin tone and hair color I really have to figure out a way to make my contour a little more defined but I am seriously in LOVE with this look!
I really want to start trying more of the pinky purples and more redish pinks and see how they work on me do you have any recommendations? Id love to hear them :)

Review: Primark Beauty *£1 Lipsticks*

The other week I did a little shopping at Primark and came across the beauty section I hadn't realised that Primark did beauty products until a few hauls popped up in my sub box. So I thought what the hell when I'm there I will pick up a few pieces and see what the quality is like.

I have to say for the price I am pretty impressed with some of the products and well some not so much but for the price its not a huge waste.

So lets start out with their lipsticks. I picked up the only 3 colours that I could find in my store which was a super super light pink which later I realised has actually had its coloured bleached my what I assume the store lights, a bright magenta colour and then a more deep pink colour. I have really been trying to expand my lip colours for fall and branch out into something I wouldn't normally wear. well with these only being £1 a piece I thought it was a perfect opportunity to try some new things out.

I dont think you can see it that well but the very top of the lipstick is a few shades lighter than the original lipstick colour.

Here are some swatches they unfortunately don't have any colour names just a jumble of numbers.

and on the lips...
Super Light Pink *Not a good look*

The Magenta

The Deep Pink
Before I start talking about the colours I will say I am pretty impressed with the quality of these for the price! They are super creamy and I find the darkest of the 3 did have some pretty amazing staying power I didn't test the first two so I am not 100% on those. If you are looking to try different lipstick colours but don't want to spend a to much money I would really recommend just trying these out and if they aren't your cup of tea its only £1 wasted instead on £6 - £10 from the drugstore.

Now onto the colours as you can see the light pink not so pretty on the lips it kinda makes me look dead and even with my super light skin tone its just not a good look. I don't know if it will look any better if I can get past the bleach out part of the lipstick if the original colour will look any better. The Magenta colour I think is probably my fave out of them all its a lovely bright pink that's pretty pigmented and still holds a glossy finish. I think it will probably be my most used out of the 3. The last one although is pretty similar to the magenta it is actually pretty sheer although really does hold its colour once applied.

So for the lipstick I give them a thumbs up very impressed :)

Keep an eye out for my next review on Primark Beauty with some eye products!!

UK vs USA: Maybelline Mega Plush Mascara

As someone who travels to the USA as much as I can over the years I have come across a lot of products over there that we don't get here in the UK. Things like Maybelline Baby Lips, Revlon Colorstay Whipped foundation just to name 2 and there are a ton of brands we don't get here either like Milani, Hard Candy, Wet 'n' Wild, Physicians Formula and so many more.

Every now and again we get lucky and they finally bring a product out here that has been out in the US going on 2 years, which to me is really strange because we still do get a lot of the same products launched at the same time but a few they just don't bother with. They happen to be the ones I usually really want to get my hands on though haha.

The Maybelline Mega Plush has just come to the UK and I thought it would be a good thing to blog about and see if there are any difference in the US and the UK versions.
I will point out this mascara is one of my favorites I have 2 back ups and I have 2 currently being used plus now the UK one I have.

As you can see they do have some difference between the 2 not huge just the packaging it self is different which isn't surprising they are going to market it differently to different countries. The tube as well has some difference and I find that with a lot of Maybelline mascara's here have the same look they are more pointed at the top and bottom opposed to the US one that is very flat which is great for standing the product up on a vanity.

Now onto the wands...
USA

UK

At first look the wands to look pretty similar and they are with just a few subtle differences. I find that the UK wand is a little bit short and not a plump as the US one and because of the slightly different handle is a little harder to apply but nothing major. When applying the mascara they both go on really nicely and they are both super buildable so if you want the more subtle and coverage you just need to apply one coat if you want to build it up to give more of a false lash look just add a few more coats.

Here is the finished look.
 UK
 USA

They do look pretty much the same but I do find the US one does win out with giving that little bit extra volume!

So If you are a UK girlie and had seen this product raved about in the USA and wanted to try it seriously go out and buy it it is well worth it. Some may wonder why I have done the comparison between the 2 when they are the same product, honestly for someone who is in the US a reasonable amount of time throughout the year you see a lot of products not just makeup and then when it finally makes its way over to the UK it can be completely different with the stupid laws that stop certain things being used in products or how certain things are illegal here in the UK or the US even *Cough* Mt Dew & Kinder Eggs *Cough*

Would you be interested to see other comparison as they come out to the UK? let me know down below :)
