Birchbox UK Unboxing & Review April 2013

This months box I was a little disappointed in I'm not sure if that's because I was so impressed with GlossyBox this month or if was just a not so great box..

This months box theme was in Bloom for the spring time
A sneak peek inside the box...

Lets get into the products..

Gerda Spillmann - Renaissance Age Serum. Price: £69.00
Now I am not really on the whole anti age bandwagon although I feel I should be I find it hard enough to have a skincare routine that keeps my skin from being drier than the desert let alone throwing in anti aging creams and serums. I am looking forward to trying this though but I guarantee I will love it and it will be amazing things for my skin and then I will have to justify the £69 price tag O.O ekk.

La Societe Parisienne De Savons - La Violette De Parme Soap. Price: £8.50

Ok so I am not a huge fan of bars of soap but OMG this smells amazing!! Reminds me of being a kid and my Mum having Parma Violet Candies they taste amazing and the soap smells just like it! I probably wont use the soap and will just keep it in a draw to smell nice.

Mirenesse - Glossy Kiss. Price: £17.50

Umm WOW just want to say first off this is way over priced! You can get these style lip products for so much less and still be amazing quality. My main problem with the product apart from the fact that is so expensive is the fact that its plastic so when you want to sharpen it ones you have used it you can't. They say you can but I don't see any sharpener getting through the outta casing.
The one thing I was actually happy with this though is that it doesn't come out the color that is shown on the end of the pencil its a pretty nice raspberry color with a little shimmer, very buildable.

Weleda - Skin Food. Price: £8.95

From what I read before the boxes actually arrived was that this was the thing everyone was wanting in there box now I don't know if that's because it is a very good product that's all natural or the fact that its one of Victoria Beckham's favorites. This all natural moisturiser is meant to soften dry heels and elbows with ease, for me its not something I will ever use but its a nice size sample to receive for those that do you these kind of creams.

Natio - Gentle Foaming Facial Cleanser. Price £6.80
This I think has to be the most exciting product for me anyway in this box I love new cleansers as I still haven't found one I really really love yet. Cant wait to try it out and for the price I will def be happy to buy it again if it helps my skin. The cleanser is designed to prevent skin feeling taut or dry which can happen to mine when I get out the shower.

Birchbox - Paname Paris Mirror. Price: £7.50

Eh Its a mirror not a whole lot I can say about it it'll be handy to throw in my purse I suppose. No Beauty extra this week though hmmm.

So that's it for this months Birchbox not overly impressed and no where near the amazingness of Glossy this month. Better luck next time Birchbox.

*BRAND NEW* Miss Glossybox!!

YAY finally a new subscription box is coming out!! This makes me stupidly happy when I see all my friends in the US get all these amazing boxes!

Starting from May GlossyBox has created Miss GlossyBox I assume that this is meant to be aimed at the younger generation but honestly I'll subscribe to anything that has makeup or nail polish in it haha What I love as well is it is cheaper than the regular GlossyBox at only £7.00 Before shipping etc and instead of it being a monthly box its a bi-monthly basis so hopefully it will be a great box to add to the other two I subscribe to :)

Thursday Thoughts!

Thursday Thoughts

Linking up with my friend Jen over at Ramblings of a Suburban Mom again for Thursday Thoughts :)

 - I have been terrible at blogging and uploading videos for the last 2 weeks and I hate it! I didn't upload a video for 7 days 7 freaking days I normally have a schedule of a video every 2-3 days. I had to work a 6 day work week which means I don't have time to film or write once I get home I just want to sleep. I always mean to set write up a bunch of posts on a Sunday and just have them post everyday but something always gets in the way.

- I have to create a new Bloglovin account because I stupidly linked it with my real name so when someone I work with decided to Google my name it showed up. I know this may sounds stupid to some but I work with 5 guys they don't understand this shit and when they can make my life hell if they want to I don't need to add fuel to the fire of what can we make fun of Caitlin for. I like to keep my work life separate from my online presence if that makes any sense.

- I have been sucked into the world of online gaming again, Yes I'm a gamer (Xbox and PC) both of my parents are PC gamers and have been for years I think I played my first online game at the age of 9. I know this may seen so strange to some people but we aren't really the traditional family we can easily waste 5-6 hours a day in mythical realms lol Imagine Penny from Big Bang Theory when she starts online gaming but we wash and don't have food everywhere lol

- My birthday is May 4th and I plan on shopping and well after I saw my paycheck with my Quarterly bonus in it just WOW someone is going to have to cut me off after a while lol

- I'm pretty sure I am going to have a heart attack at work one of these days the guys love to jump out and scare the shit out of me when I walk out of rooms, their favorite is when I walk out the bathroom I have attacked one with a mop once.....

- My Favorite actress Katey Sagal is going to be on Glee May 2nd and then again next season this means I now have to start tolerating Glee again, but the fact she is going to be singing in next season makes me want to watch it she has an amazing voice!

So that's all from me this Thursday :)

Glossybox UK April 2013 Review & Unboxing *Pearl Lowe Edition*

Yay I finally received my Glossybox for April so excited for this and it did not disappoint!

This months was a special edition box by Pearl Lowe and I love love love the box design super cute and I will be keeping it to store letters :)

A quick look at the products...

SunSense - Daily Face SPF. Price: £18.50 for 75g -

This will be great for the warmer months when you don't want to put on a lot of products but still want a little coverage. The daily face has 50+ SPF which is tinted for a sheer matte finish which is great and the fact that is is good for all skin types just makes it better!! Cant wait to give this a try and see if it really works I don't doubt the SPF i am more dubious about the tinted part and if I will come out looking like an oompa loopma lol

NIP + FAB - Coconut Latte Dry Skin Fix Body Butter.  Price: £9.95 for 200ml -

So I'm actually pretty excited to try this out I am been really into moisturizers and body lotions/creams recently for when i get out of the shower and I have heard great things from this brand. I am not 100% in love with the smell just because to me it doesn't smell like coconut or latte it smells of Coco Butter and I am not a huge fan of that.

Modelco - Cheek + Lip Tint in Rosy Red. Price: £15 for 10ml -

I think this is the only products in the whole box I wasn't overly happy with only because I know what other products people got in their boxes in stead of this. The packaging is cute and reminds me of the OCC liptars but the color is really not be I think I might try this as a blush but i cant see that going to well haha.

Yves Rocher France - So Elixir Purple Perfume. Price: £44 for 50ml -

As we all know (if you have watched my YouTube channel) I am a Perfume junkie I love new perfumes and buying different scents!! This has to be the cutest bottle for a sample and I love that the liquid is purple, the smell is really nice a little bit strong but will be perfect for a night out. Its described as a Floral - Woody Elixir and I must say I agree with that its not my usual scent of choice but still smells amazing :)

Essie Nail Lacquer - Nice is Nice. Price: £7.99 for 5ml - ,

I am not sure how many colors they sent out in all the boxes but I am so happy I recieved this gorgeous lilac color so so pretty!! I cant wait to wear it it will def be on my next to paint list. I am a massive Essie fan and this is the best spring color cant wait to start rocking it :)
Lets face it though its always going to be a good box if it comes with a nail polish lol

so thats all for this months Glossybox for April and as you can see I LOVE it :)
Cant wait to see whats in next months box!!

My Favorite Must Have Spring Nail Polish ❤

As we all know I am nail polish crazy like I have just over 200 bottles of the stuff and still continue to buy more as new collections are released and spring/summer are my favorite collections to look at and buy so here it is my Spring must have nail polishes!

Spring always brings out the pastel colors in my collection like Im sure it does with everyone else so this is a mix between pastel colors with the odd bright thrown in. I feel brights are very much summer colors so keep an eye out for that post once summer hits :)

I am a huge cream and high shine fan for nail polish while I still love glitters and shimmers i find myself draw more towards the cream bases well recently anyway.
Lets get into this!!

As you can see these match the swatches at the very top :)

The Peachy Pinks..
Models Own: Peach Sherbet - Super cute color for both toes and fingers not too bright but still have a great spring pop. It very much matches its name I think of sherbet when I see it. Models Own in its self is a very good nail polish brand great quality and if you can find a good deal on them then they are always worth the price.

Wet 'N' Wild: Sugar Coat - I just love this very subtle if you don't want a huge pop of color this is the one more on the peachy side of pink and super cheap for the quality of the polish!

Essie: Fiji - I picked this up after seeing so many people rave about it and I am so glad I did. Like the Wet 'N' Wild not a crazy stand out color but still a really nice creamy color this is very much a girlie baby pink.

The Hot pink & Lilac..
China Glaze: Dance Baby - I have been loving this bad boy recently the best hot pink that isnt neon or over the top in my opinion. It come out on the nail alot more pink than in the bottle great pop of color for a spring day. China Glaze is hands down my fave brand even though on the pricy side I just love them!

Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear: Lacey Lilac - You cant go through spring without wearing a lilac at least once and this has to be my favorite this season. This is really a True purple lilac apposed to the pink tone purples, this I feel with transition into summer and work great to.

The Minty Yellows..
China Glaze: Re-Fresh Mint - Ok so this right here is probably my favorite out of everything! I was obsessed with this color last year and I feel it will happen again its the best minty green apple color I will be repurchasing this so I don't run out over spring!!

Revlon: Sunshine Sparkle - Now this is I think the only color that isn't a cream base and does have a slight sparkle in it. This will be more of a toe color for myself but I think would still work amazing as a finger nail color. Although the polish is more on the sheer side it does need a second or third coat depending on how opaque you want the color.

Barry M Jelly Shine: Greenberry - I am a mint color fanatic if you hadn't noticed already hehe so the fact that with his super shiny as well OMG amazing!! I had this color on for at least a week recently which is a long time for me. Barry M is super cheap and amazing quality couldn't ask for a better polish!

Have you got any polish you would recommend for me to try out for this season or leading into summer? please let me knowing the comments below I always love trying out new colors and polish brands :)

The Reverse Ombre?

So Im pretty sure everyone has heard of Ombre I mean its EVERYWHERE and has been the last 12 months whether it be in fashion or hair.
While I didn't jump on the bandwagon of Ombreing my hair when it first became super popular I wish I could have but having super blonde hair at the time I didn't want to let my roots grow out or darken them at the time. I did dye the underneath of my hair super dark int he summer though and love it and my sister who used to have super blonde hair and dyed a pretty big chunk of her tips bright red which looked amazing and I wish I could have done that but at the time work just wouldnt allow me to.
Recently I came across a picture on Pinterest of a women with a reverse Ombre as they called it and I have been obsessed with the look!

I super popular Ombre Style

This is the hair I have been OBSESSING over for the last 2 week I'm going between thinking I could pull it off to thinking it would look terrible on my straight hair. I put enough heat on my hair to get it straight frim being a fizzy mess so I dont want to add more plus my hair doesn't hold a curl at all but I think that has something to do with be having the wrong size curling iron.

The one main reason I want to do this is I want to have super dark ends so they can recover from previous chemical damage from being blonde for so long. With trying to get my hair to be in healthy condition I had considered going super hair get it healthy and then slowly go back blonde again but I just don't suit dark hair and I don't think I ever will so that's out the window.

Its my birthday month in May and I was thinking of treating myself to getting my hair done and not doing it myself for the first time in god knows how many years.

So please help me do you like the reverse Ombre look? Do you think it would look good on straight hair or just curled hair?  If you hate it or dont think it would work out please let me know what you think a cool new hair style/color for summer would be I really need a change :)

My Spring Must Have Lip Products!!

Spring and Summer are the season where the bright lipsticks and glosses come out to play, seeing as I am new to the whole lip product world I havn't dared to go that far into the brights I personally really love the nudes and light pinks so I tried to combine both for my Spring must have lip products.
Now we all know I have a problem with buying lipsticks/glosses and never wearing them so this spring I am going to really get into the habit of using them..... I hope.

Lets get started with lipsticks
First and the Brightest they get are the Helen E lipstick in Marshmallow which is gorgeous on it came in a subscription box but I want to get a lot of wear out of it these coming seasons!! Next we have two of my newer purchases and they are the Maybelline ColorSensational Popsticks which to me just look so cool I love that they are like Popsicle's lol and no if you haven't come across these before they don't come out the color of the actual stick they once on the lips they come out very pretty pinks. On to the last two my Maybelline Color Whisper in Petal Rebel and Revlon Lipbutter in Strawberry Short cake I think these ones are my all time favorite I wear them all year round but I think they are perfect spring colors!

here are some swatches :)
The colors go as listed above

Now onto the Lip glosses, I don't have as many must haves but I still cant wait to use them seeing as it is finally warming up over here!!

*From L - R: MUA Shade - 5 , Buxom - white Russian, Revlon - Bellini, L'Oreal Caresse Stain - Marilyn*

As you can see again a mixture of nudes and pinks the MUA and L'Oreal are perfect colors just to apply and go and are opaque enough to not have to wear anything underneath. The Buxom and Revlon I use over lipsticks and go perfectly with a hot pink lipstick base!

Some more swatches :)

L'Oreal, MUA, Revlon, Buxom

So those are all my Spring must haves, do you have any lip products you are loving this spring and think I should try out? let me know!

What I'm loving Wednesday!!

I'm Linking up with This Kind of Love for another What I'm Loving Wednesday!!

 I'm Loving...

Lemon Meringue Pie!! OMG it tastes just so good I cant even tell you how badly I wish I could live off this stuff lol

 I'm Loving...

Rudimental ft Ella Eyre - Waiting All Night, So I have been OBSESSED with this song and video! I think the video is the reason I love this song so much its just inspiring it's the journey of Kurt Yaeger (a pro BMX Champion and actor) from losing his leg in a motorbike accident to being able to ride his BMX again.

 I'm Loving...

WTFSutter, Now I know most wont know what this is but if you know who Kurt Sutter is you might. So if you dont know who Mr Sutter is he is the Creator/Writer of Son's of Anarchy and every week does a serious on YouTube called WTFSutter which he answers questions from fans and gives updates on castings or any news for the upcoming season. Honestly how many writers or creators of TV shows/movies really take time out their day to make sometimes nearly 20 min videos interacting with their fans? I don't think I have seen anyone else do this its a nice touch plus he can ramble about the most random things funny as all hell!

I'm Loving...

Going on from the above Son's of Anarchy we are getting to the end of Season 5 over here in the UK. Seeing as I have access to the internet the season has already been spoiled and I know what happens which sucks but still my all time favorite show and well this image just explains it all...
for anyone that does watch sons my little opinion the season so far: I miss Opie, Tara annoys me as the episodes go by but maybe that's because I love Gemma so much? I want to hate Clay for causing all the shit he has but Ron Perlman plays him so I just cant lol

I'm Loving...

MisterEpicMann, right I found this guy on YouTube about a month or so ago and he had around 10k subscribers if that and now he is on well over a Million!! I seriously recommend watching the Patients Tests 1 & 2 and How Animals Eat Their Food You will be crying from laughter I sure as hell did.

That's all for this week :)

What are you loving this Wednesday??
