Birchbox UK Unboxing & Review April 2013

This months box I was a little disappointed in I'm not sure if that's because I was so impressed with GlossyBox this month or if was just a not so great box..

This months box theme was in Bloom for the spring time
A sneak peek inside the box...

Lets get into the products..

Gerda Spillmann - Renaissance Age Serum. Price: £69.00
Now I am not really on the whole anti age bandwagon although I feel I should be I find it hard enough to have a skincare routine that keeps my skin from being drier than the desert let alone throwing in anti aging creams and serums. I am looking forward to trying this though but I guarantee I will love it and it will be amazing things for my skin and then I will have to justify the £69 price tag O.O ekk.

La Societe Parisienne De Savons - La Violette De Parme Soap. Price: £8.50

Ok so I am not a huge fan of bars of soap but OMG this smells amazing!! Reminds me of being a kid and my Mum having Parma Violet Candies they taste amazing and the soap smells just like it! I probably wont use the soap and will just keep it in a draw to smell nice.

Mirenesse - Glossy Kiss. Price: £17.50

Umm WOW just want to say first off this is way over priced! You can get these style lip products for so much less and still be amazing quality. My main problem with the product apart from the fact that is so expensive is the fact that its plastic so when you want to sharpen it ones you have used it you can't. They say you can but I don't see any sharpener getting through the outta casing.
The one thing I was actually happy with this though is that it doesn't come out the color that is shown on the end of the pencil its a pretty nice raspberry color with a little shimmer, very buildable.

Weleda - Skin Food. Price: £8.95

From what I read before the boxes actually arrived was that this was the thing everyone was wanting in there box now I don't know if that's because it is a very good product that's all natural or the fact that its one of Victoria Beckham's favorites. This all natural moisturiser is meant to soften dry heels and elbows with ease, for me its not something I will ever use but its a nice size sample to receive for those that do you these kind of creams.

Natio - Gentle Foaming Facial Cleanser. Price £6.80
This I think has to be the most exciting product for me anyway in this box I love new cleansers as I still haven't found one I really really love yet. Cant wait to try it out and for the price I will def be happy to buy it again if it helps my skin. The cleanser is designed to prevent skin feeling taut or dry which can happen to mine when I get out the shower.

*LIFESTYLE EXTRA*

Birchbox - Paname Paris Mirror. Price: £7.50

Eh Its a mirror not a whole lot I can say about it it'll be handy to throw in my purse I suppose. No Beauty extra this week though hmmm.

So that's it for this months Birchbox not overly impressed and no where near the amazingness of Glossy this month. Better luck next time Birchbox.

GlossyBox Unboxing & Review March 2013

So this came is super super early this month I was surprised to see it when I came home from work the other day!! Oh and also I am actually going to be releasing the blog  post and the youtube video at the same time that never freaking happens haha

This months box I think was meant to be centred all around travel so we got a little travel beauty booklet along with the regular product sheet.

The products! they all turned out to be pink, black and red with the packaging pretty cute!!

Elizabeth Arden - Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant (Fragrance Free). Price: £25 for 50ml - Boots

When I saw this I thought wow this will be perfect for when I fly its a great sample size so I can carry it on the plane with me. When I travel its normally a 30 + hour day and I am on plane for around 10 hours so after that my skin always feels a little dry. The balm can be used to "refresh jet lagged skin, shape brows, revitalise shine, soothe dry hands & chapped lips, smooth cuticles and nail" so as you can see its a jack of all trades it pretty much does everything!! Its a very thick consistency so it will be interesting to see how this really works.

Nails Inc - St. James. Price: £11 for 10ml - Nailsinc.com
I am a HUGE nail Polish junkie so this is great and the colour for me is a perfect toe colour :) I personally never understood the hype around Nailsinc but great product for me.

Juicy Couture - Couture La La. Price: £63 for 100ml - Debenhams or Boots
For months I have been wanting to try a Juicy Couture Perfume I keep seeing the massive bottles in TK Maxx but never wanted to pay for a full bottle I might not like the smell of but let me tell you OMG I Love it! seriously best thing I have smelt in a long time I will be purchasing the full size very soon.

Jelly Pong Pong Cosmetics - Lip Blush. Price: £12 - 2.5g - Jellypongpong.com
I have recently become a lip junkie so I love to receive lip products in these boxes I just wish it was in a shade I wore I am strictly pinks and Nudes thats only because I just don't suit any other colours. I do think I will give this a try though I mean why not I hope it isn't to over the top.

TRESemme Salon Finnish Extra Hold Hairspray. Price: £4.69 for 500ml - Tresemme.co.uk
I'm not really a huge hair spray user I honestly couldn't tell you when I last actually used any but it will be interesting to see how firm the hold of it is and if it makes my hair crunchy.

Overall I was super impressed with this months box they have been really great recently. Hopefully I don't jinx this and get a crappy box next month.

Glossybox unboxing & review February 2013

So I know I have posted here since November and I'm kicking myself for it because of of my new years things to do was to start blogging regularly again. If you saw my recent video on my YouTube channel you will know I said I would be doing a blog post on the beauty boxes I just received so here it is..... better late than never right?

This months box was the Valentines addition and I was seriously impressed super cute packaging and some products I feel I will really use!!

Seriously look at that packaging so cute!!

oh yes there is a lollipop on there and it tasted so yummy strawberry flavor my fav :D

Micabella Cosmetics - Mineral Blush powder. Price: £34.95 for 9g - micabella.co.uk
I just want to start off with how happy I am that I am finally receiving more makeup products in there boxes it makes me very happy. I personally have never used any kind of mineral blushes or mineral products really the micabella collection is make of 100% natural mica which is a crystal based mineral (Ive never heard of it) Mine came in a terracotta color totally not me but its a nice size sample. Maybe ill use it on someone else?

MeMeMe Cosmetics - Beat the Blue. Price: £5.50 for 12ml - mememecosmetics.co.uk
First of all this was a b*tch to get a photo off to show off the true color of it but this is as close as I could get. I am a HUGE fan of cream highlighters so I love this great product great pigmentation and just in general a stable in my makeup collection!!

Helen  É Cosmetics - Moisturizing Lipstick in Marshmallow. Price: £8 - Helen-e.com
Again this was so hard to take a picture off the light was just not working for the color it is a very bright pink to me but my camera apparently doesn't agree (I have added the stop photo as well) . either was I think I got the best deal out of these lipsticks I have been seeing people get some pretty horrific reddish brown colors and frosty red yuk! I am very much a baby pink/ nude/ pink nude kinda lipstick girl and even this bright pink is a bit out of my comfort zone but I love it. Super creamy and doesn't dry out your lips. Fantastic!

Narciso Rodriguez - for her l'eau. Price: £25 for 30ml, £46 for 50ml, £66 for 100ml - houseoffraser.co.uk
Now I will be honest with you this smell like ass! worst thing I think Ive smelt since the Thanksgiving candle from Bath & Body Works. There isnt a lot I can say about this I hated it and for the price they want to charge you to smell this bad is pretty steep. It says its "a cult product among beauty insiders and particular popular with brides" I just don't get it.

Docteur Renaud - Raspberry Soft Cream. Price: £25 for 50ml - marksandspencer.com
This has become my holy grail of skincare products it is hands down the best moisturizer I have ever used!! It doesn't sting or irritate my skin one bit. It is designed for those that have sensitive skin but I cant believe how much this has helped my dry and tight skin this ranks well about my Clinique and Nivea any day!!

So that was Feb's Valentines Glossybox :)

October 2012 SheSaidBeauty Unboxing & Review

I promise this will be the last beauty box review....well until next month hehe

SheSaidBeauty is probably one of my favorite beauty boxes to get in the mail it is very rare that I get a bad box which is always great when your spending £10ish a month for each box and unfortunatly like the other 2 boxes I recieved this month it wasnt over the moon fantastic but still pretty good. Its not the worst box Ive ever recieved but I looked at a product or two and thought Umm why did you put this in the box.
So lets get into the box....

I have always been a fan of SheSaidBeauty's packaging (I am a big sucker for packaging of all kinds) the aqua and hot pink just goes so well together.

The products!!!

1. Cellnique - Advanced Bio Renewal Masque.
I must admit I am loving all these face products that I think all 3 boxes I'm subscribed to are putting in but its going to get to a point where I never want to see a face product again so maybe stop while your ahead SheSaidBeauty?.
Anyway I'm really looking forward to trying this its only a tiny sample but it should be enough for me to get an idea of if I like it or not. Its a scrub masque that's "formulated with a complex of fresh fruit enzymes and acids" and its meant to "exfoliate away dead skin cells and deeply cleanses pores" which for me who is someone that has pore problems around my nose area i think this will be perfect.
A 50g pot retails for $51.
* Get 20% discount on any of Cellnique's top 13 products when using the code 20SHESAID at www.cellnique.com

2. B.Liv - Off With Those Heads.
So this is the second face products in this months box which although i wont be using all the time i think will become pretty handy when it is needed. Its decribed as a "light cooling gel that promises to remove stubborn blackheads and whiteheads" the products is also meant to apparently prevent future irritation and breakouts. I always take products that say those kind of things with a pinch of salt only because everyones skin types are different they cant really quarrenty that kinda of thing either way though will be intersting to try this product out.
A 30ml tube retails for $49 and a 45ml is $63 +shipping
* Get 20% discount on blackhead & large pores treatment kit when using code BKIT20 at www.blivskin.com

3. Herbacin - Wuta Kamille Hand Cream.
I absolutely LOVE this product its probably my second favorite in the box. I tried a small bit of this when I opened it all up and let me just say a little goes a long way!! I looked at the tin to begin with and thought this wont last very long but I think it really will well i hope so anyway. The hand cream is made up from all natural ingrediance and is designed to protect you hands against all weather type. This is def a throw in your handbag type item and the packaging is super cute, all round a great little product and Im glad this was the full size product in the box.
A 20ml tin retails for 99p and a 100ml for £3.49.

4. Biao - Beauty Rejuvenating Night Creme.
This is the final face product in the box and Ive actually seen a few people get 2 sachet's of these am I the only person that only got 1? anyway I actually use a night cream daily, I always used to think night cream was for the older generation but I honestly cant live without it now. Ive personally never heard of this brand but honestly most of the products I receive Ive never heard of but the night cream is designed to sooth, moisturize and protect against premature aging. It'll be nice to try it out and see how it compares to my current night cream.
A 118ml bottle retails for $24.50.
* Get 20% off a purchase at www.biaoskincare.com with code SHESAIDBEAUTY.

5. KeraStraight - Moisture and Protein Masks.
Now these are the products in the box I am hands down the most excited for!! Recently I have been really into trying different hair products since my hair is pretty damaged from dye and heat tools etc so I love trying things that can repair or protect my hair and anything that has keratin in I'm down to try. The two masks are described as being able to "Smooth and Renew hair inside and out" Super excited to try this out and the packets are actually a decent size so very happy :).
A 100ml pot retails for £25.

5. Myvitamins - D3 Food Supplements. *SSB TREAT*
This is the product that when I opened up my box I thought HUH why is this in a beauty box? and honestly I still don't know. I know this is an extra little thing in the box a treat apparently but id rather they didn't both I'm never going to use these and from what Ive read a lot of people are disappointed with this.
The packet retails for £2.49.

All in all I am pretty impressed with this months box and I do hope that SheSaidBeauty continues to impress me :)

October 2012 Joliebox Unboxing & Review

Ive been subscribed to Joliebox (which now by the way is part of Birchbox!! super excited about that for i think around 6-7 months (although I'm not sure and I'm to lazy to go check lol) They wowed me with my first box from them with including my favorite nail polish brand China Glaze so they set me up for great things and most boxes have been great. Ill be honest though this month has kind of disappointing the products are good but the likelihood of me actually using them isn't very high. I feel we fill out these beauty profile and the never send us things that match to that but hey that just my personal opinion.

So lets get into the box...

Just want to add I love the Fleur is on the Joliemag this month!! Inside is a small interview on her blog and Youtube channel, I always love a good read about how a Youtube star became popular :)

The products!!!

1. Iroisie - Soin Parfait Ultimate BB Cream.
I'd say over the last 4-5 months I have become a HUGE fan of BB creams I mix mine with a moisturizer and use a duo fiber brush to apply but it is so much fast and easier to start the day with just putting a BB cream on. So with being a huge BB cream can I am pretty excited to give these a try. My only gripe about the samples is I have no idea what shade they are (or if each sample is the same) they do say "The natural Pigments blend easily into the skin offering a buildable, flawless coverage" thought so we will have to see if they match at all. On another note I know the these boxes are only for us to try things out but I honestly don't think the amount of product in these would cover my face....we shall see.
* Get Free shipping and 4 samples from there range if you buy a full size BB cream and enter the code: "jolie" at checkout.

2. Jason - Bee Healthier Lip Balm Stick.
So lets begin with this I'm a HUGE lip balm/chapstick lover and well this ones also smells AMAZING I kid you not it smells like After 8 Mints or if you have no idea what they are it small like a mixture of mint and chocolate (well I think so anyway). You cant go wrong with a good lip balm and well this one is already in my purse I love it!.

3. MOA - The Green Balm. The little sample of the green balm is probably going to be one of the products I wont be using unfortunately I just have no use for it. Its meant to give moisture for chapped dehydrated skin which personally I just Germolene but that's because I grew up with using that but I can imagine this will be a great little product for someone to throw in there bags for everyday use. The really great thing about this product though is that its suitable for sensitive skin which is always a big plus for me.

4. LOV Organic - Lov is Beautiful.
This product is the Lifestyle product in the box which I'm not really sure if ive ever recieved a lifestyle product from Jolie before but personally I don't see the point this is a beauty sample box not a lifestyle sample box anyone else with me?? The this I really do like about this product though is the smell its a blend of white and green tea and has hints of peach and mango that's packed with Antioxidants and Zinc, it seriously smells so yummy! I probably wont drink it (strictly hot tea drinker here) but still smells amazing.
* Enter code "JOLIELOV" at checkout at www.lov-organic.com and get free shipping.

5. Ritessens - Cleanser or Exfoliant.
This bad boy is the full size product of the box and I'm really impressed with the size of the product not many boxes give large full size products away. I personally received the exfoliant of the 2 and I'm a little wary to try it due to my skin never being co-operative and I'm always worried with new products if they are going to break me out. Its says its "a powerful blend of natural plant extracts and Moroccan Argan oil" I am a huge fan of Argan oil and Ive heard a lot about Moroccan oil recently so def cant wait to try it and hopefully the scent isn't to strong or over powering.

So over all I would say worth the £10 subscription I will probably use 2 maybe 3 out of the 5 items.
